Moving into a new home can be a little confusing at best. However, when that new home starts showing signs of being haunted by an unknown entity, it can quickly go from confusing to downright scary. A haunted house is classified as a home where a spirit lives that has not yet moved on. The spirit does not understand why another person or family is living in its home and tries with all of its limited power to expel that person from their abode. Unbelievably, though horror movies often portray spirits as being aggressive and deadly, they are just as afraid of humans as humans are of them. Below, find six common signs that a spirit haunts your home.

Missing Objects

If you have ever lost your car keys, cell phone, remote, or something that you usually keep up with, then you could just be forgetful. However, if those things show back up in the same exact spot that you thought you left them, you could have a spirit trying to communicate with you. This is one of the most common signs of haunting.

Noises that can’t be Explained

While many noises can be explained away as the settling of a house, this is also a common sign that you have a spirit in your home. Noises such as footsteps when you are home alone, a strange rapping on the wall, or even animalistic noises that can’t be explained by the dog, point to the home being haunted. You may want to look into having the house cleaned as a precaution.

The Feeling of Being Watched

The feeling that you are being watched when there is no one in the room is one of the most common signs of a home haunting. If you feel a cold chill in the air when the rest of the house is warm, or a hand that lightly touches your shoulder when you are alone, you may be sharing your home with a spirit. Most of these feelings occur in certain areas of your home, such as the kitchen or oftentimes the basement.

Moving Objects

Also known as, psychokinetic activity, objects being moved when no one is touching them is a clear sign that you are not alone in your home. Glasses moving on their own, books flying off a table, and kitchen cabinets flinging themselves open, are only some of the signs that you may need to have your house cleansed.

Seeing Spirits and Apparitions

A surefire way of knowing that your house is haunted is seeing the spirit itself. Seeing a spirit or apparition is rare, but it has been known to happen. From wispy shapes to shadows in the corner, you need to have an expert come in to cleanse your home. It is possible to feel negative energy when you live in a home that is haunted by a spirit. If you feel that something is wrong in your home, then you need to have it cleaned.

If you have any or all of these problems in your new home, it may mean nothing or it could mean that a spirit possesses your home. It is best to have the house cleansed than to deal with a spirit that wants you to vacate the premises.
